We do accept transfer students. You would have to apply as a new student and go through the same process. Exemptions (“transfers with credits”) are awarded at the Admissions Tutor’s discretion. Our undergraduate degrees last two years, so a year elsewhere will not equate to a year’s exemption at The Border Institute of Technology.
To make a direct application for a place at the Border Institute of Technology you need to complete and submit an application form. You also need to supply an academic reference, together with certified copies of transcripts and/or examination certificates. The Admissions will then be able to consider your application. You will receive a letter when the decision process has been completed.
You can normally apply for most courses up to 2 years prior to the start date. There are no cut-off dates for home students: for international students who require a visa, cut-off dates can vary due to visa processing times. Contact you Admissions Department for up-to-date information.
If you applied for admission during the last academic year, you may request in writing to have your application reactivated for transfer consideration. Applicants who were previously denied admission to Border Institute of Technology must wait one academic year before being reconsidered and are strongly encouraged to enroll at another college for that period.
When will I be notified of Border Institute of Technology's decision?
Border Institute of Technology will not review your application for admission until we have received all required admission items. Decisions are made on a rolling basis after the application deadline. Upon your acceptance to Border Institute of Technology, it is important to pay the nonrefundable tuition deposit by your enrollment deadline. This will secure your place in the class.
Transfer applicants who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents are eligible to apply for financial aid in the form of grants, loans, and part-time employment.
Financial aid is awarded on the basis of need, but is dependent upon availability of funds. Border Institute of Technology grant assistance is generally not available to transfer students during their first year at the Border Institute of Technology.
To apply for financial assistance applicants must complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Assistance and the College Scholarship Service Financial Aid Profile
